His full name was Vishwanath Pratap Singh. He was born on June 25, 1931 in the Zamindar family of Allahabad. His real father’s name was Raza Bhagwati Prasad Singh. In 1936, VP Singh was adopted by Raja Bahadur Rai Gopal Singh of Mandwa. After the death of Raja Bahadur Rai in 1941, VP Singh was made the 41st Raja Bahadur of Mandwa.
VP Singh’s studies started from Cambridge School in Dehradun. Completed further studies from Allahabad, then studied at Pune University in Poona. He was interested in politics from the time of his studies, he was the President of Student Union of Uday Pratap College, Varanasi, besides he was the Vice President of Allahabad University. VP Singh was very fond of writing poems, so he also wrote many books. VP Singh did many movements during the student period and took over their leadership, so his love for power increased. He was from a rich family, but he did not love wealth so much, due to the love of patriotism, he also donated all his property in land donation and the family broke up with him.
VP Singh political career –
V P Singh joined the All India Congress Party in 1969 as a member of the Allahabad University. He was a skilled politician, was made a member of the Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh in 1969, at this time he was the leader of the Congress. Won the election of the Lower Parliamentary Lok Sabha in 1971. in 1974 Indira Gandhi made him the Union Deputy Minister of Commerce. V P Singh held this post from 1976-1977. in the 1980’s Lok Sabha also became a member of When Indira came back to power after the fall of the Janata Dal government in 1980, VP Singh was made the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He remained in this post till 1982, after which he took over the post of Union Commerce Minister back in 1983. when in 1984 Rajiv Gandhi took power, then VP Singh was appointed as the Finance Minister. After some time in 1987, he was given the post of Defense Minister.

VP Singh was very disappointed with the power of the Gandhi family taking over the Congress, so he had to face difficulties in working with Rajiv Gandhi. During the time of Rajiv Gandhi, the image of Congress completely deteriorated in the Bofors incident. Due to differences with Rajiv Gandhi, VP Singh was expelled from the cabinet. After which Singh resigned from both Congress and Lok Sabha.
VP Singh formed the Jan Morcha party in 1987 with Arun Nehru and Arif Mohammad Khan and started campaigning against the Congress. In 1988, he again got the Lok Sabha seat from Allahabad. After which, on 11 October 1988, Jan Morcha, Janata Party, Lok Dal formed an alliance, which was named Janata Dal. All these parties together stood against Rajiv Gandhi. VP Singh was made the president of the party. Finally, on 2 December 1989, the Janata Dal won with a huge majority and VP Singh was made the Prime Minister.

After becoming the Prime Minister of VP Singh, the image was nothing special. They lacked foresight and patience, due to which the Kashmir problem of the country took the form of more intensity. Due to wrong decisions of VP Singh, casteism became more serious in the country. To become a successful politician, he encouraged reservation more, which caused discontent in the country. Due to reservation, there was a lot of dissatisfaction among the youth, due to which the youth accepted suicide.
VP Singh’s tenure was not commendable, he lacked leadership power. VP Singh did not accept to work in solidarity, due to which he was called selfish. VP Singh used to lay more emphasis on his personal success. That’s why he proved to be a failed leader. VP Singh’s tenure was only from 2 December 1989 to 10 November 1990, but in these days he had made India’s situation worse. These days, there was a lot of panic in the country from outsiders, terrorist attacks were increasing. Three of our prime ministers were killed, which was a huge defeat. A successful politician was needed in that delicate period, but VP Singh could not give successful politics to India, his period was even more troublesome, he had created more vibration in the country.
VP Singh Death
VP Singh died on 27 November 2008. He was 77 years old. VP Singh was suffering from kidney problems for several days, after which he passed away at Apollo Hospital in Delhi.
