One day the priest’s wife took both the sons with her to the hermitage of sage Shandilya. There she heard the story and method of this Pradosh fast of Shiva ji from the sage, after going home she started observing Pradosh fast. Both the boys were roaming in the forest, out of which the priest’s son returned home, but the prince remained in the forest. The prince, seeing the Gandharva girls playing sports, started talking to them. The name of that girl was Anshumati. That day the prince returned home too late.

The next day again the prince reached the same place where Anshumati was talking to her parents. Then Anshumati’s parents recognized that prince and told him that you are the prince of Vidarbha city, are you not your name is Dharmagupta. Anshumati’s parents liked that prince and they said that by the grace of Shiva, we want to marry our daughter to you, are you ready for this marriage?

The prince gave his approval and the marriage of both of them took place. Later the prince attacked Vidarbha with a huge army of Gandharvas and won a fierce battle and started ruling with his wife. There, in that palace, he started taking the wife and son of that priest with respect. All their sorrows and poverty were removed and they started living life happily.
