Jodha Akbar is a historical story which is said to be the most memorable love story in history. Many films and TV serials have also been made on Jodha Akbar, due to which the trend of today’s people towards Jodha Akbar has increased a lot. Films and serials made on these stories of Jodha Akbar were opposed by many historians and native Rajasthani people. Due to which people got excited to know that what was the truth of Jodha-Akbar?

Jodha Akbar is a love story. In fact, there is no specific evidence of its existence. Akbar was the emperor of the Mughals, who with his power had subdued India under the Mughals. At that time Akbar’s enemy was Rajputana, which we know as the war of Akbar and Pratap.

Akbar made some strategy to subjugate India, which included war and compromise. Akbar had a huge military force, so that he could easily flaunt his legacy, but a lot of blood flowed in all this, which Akbar did not like in many ways, so he also adopted the policy of compromise, under which he would marry other king’s daughters. By marrying them with respect and by making relations with them, he used to subject those princely states to himself without any loss of public. In those days, Akbar’s biggest enemy was the Rajputs, whom he used to subject himself to either of these two policies. and thus the marriage of Princess Jodha, the daughter of King Bharmal, was done with Akbar. According to tradition, Jodha was to adopt Mughal religion but Akbar did not insist on this. This was the basis of Jodha Akbar’s love story because Akbar did not forcibly want the Mughal Empire on the country, so history calls Akbar a good ruler. Due to this behavior of Akbar, a feeling of love for Akbar arose in the mind of Princess Jodha and she introduced Akbar to the Hindu culture. Perhaps for this reason Akbar became the favorite ruler of both the religions. Apart from this, Akbar’s childhood was spent with a Hindu family. During the war, his father Humayun had to spend many days in exile, due to which he had to live with a Hindu family, due to which Akbar also had respect for Hindu culture. Akbar had many begum but still his mind was more attached to Jodha, due to which Jodha’s fearless behavior was very much liked by Akbar. Jodha always showed Akbar the path of right and wrong, which proved to be helpful for Akbar to become a beloved king.

Jodha became Maryam-uz-Zamani (whose children become kings) of the Mughal Empire. Jodha had the first two children (Hasan Hussain) who died a few months later. Later Jodha’s son Jahangir ruled over the Mughul Empire.

Similarly, due to the relation between Mughal and Rajputana, we can see the inclusion of Hindu and Mughal carvings. Akbar had given permission to Jodha to build a temple in the fort, due to which the incorporation of these two cultures was seen at that time, which is a very unique confluence.

But many historians have called the story of Jodha Akbar wrong, according to them there is no strong evidence of Jodha’s existence in any historical book. According to some historians, Jodha was the Rajputana Baigam of Akbar’s son Jahangir. According to many historians, Jodha is a fictional character of a writer’s pen. Rajasthani people say that no Rajput woman was married to Akbar and some say that Rajputana Baigam was known by some other name not Jodha. Many similar stories are told in the context of Jodha Akbar’s love.

The film on Jodha Akbar, which was made by Ashutosh Gorekar, also faced many difficulties and he was also opposed a lot, about which he said that he made his film after historical books, research and talks with many good historians. According to him, Akbar’s Rajputana was Baigam but their names were different, one of which was Jodha.
