How to File E-Nomination in EPF Account?

As per the new guidelines, EPFO has made it compulsory to add a nominee to your EPF account. Now E-nomination facility is available with e-sign. One can file E-nomination online in the EPFO member portal.

E-nomination provides social security to the family and helps in getting Provident fund(PF), Pension (EPS), and Insurance(EDLI) benefits easily on members death, and it facilitates nominee to file an online claim.

Features of E-Nomination Functionality

  1. UAN should be activated.
  2. Verified Aadhar should be linked with UAN.
  3. Mobile Number of UAN should be linked with Aadhaar.
  4. Photo of the member should be available in the profile of the member.
  5. Permanent and Current addresses should be mentioned in the profile of the member.
  6. Aadhaar of the nominee in e-nomination is mandatory.
  7. Aadhaar Based e-sign by the member in e-nomination.
  8. Digitally signed nomination PDF will be available in the login of member and field office.

The Process to Update Photograph in Your Profile

  • Visit EPFO Member Portal (www.epfindia.gov.in)
  • Now in the tabs present on the top, expand the Service Tab which is reflecting on the top left side, and click on the ‘For Employees’ option.
  • Then click on the ‘Member UAN/Online service (OCS/OTCP)’ under the Service Head.
  • Now Employee Login Portal page will get open (https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/).
  • Then log in by entering your UAN and password, and enter the given captcha.
  • Once you Login to your PF account, click on ‘View’ and select the ‘Profile’ option from the drop-down.
  • After selecting the profile option you will be able to see all the details of the member.
  • In the left side corner, click on the change photo option, now click on the Browse option and upload your photo.
  • Now click on the Preview option, and then select Upload photograph.
  • Your photo will be updated in your profile.

Steps to Update Your Address in Your Profile

  • Visit EPFO Member Portal (www.epfindia.gov.in)
  • Now in the tabs present on the top, expand the Service Tab which is reflecting on the top left side, and click on the ‘For Employees’ option.
  • Then click on the ‘Member UAN/Online service (OCS/OTCP)’ under the Service Head.
  • Now Employee Login Portal page will get open (https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/).
  • Then log in by entering your UAN and password, and enter the given captcha.
  • Once you Login to your PF account, click on ‘View’ and select the ‘Profile’ option from the drop-down.
  • After selecting the profile option you will be able to see all the details of the member.
  • There you will be able to see the Permanent address and Current Address option.
  • Click on edit and enter your address details.
  • Now click on update and your address will be updated in your profile.

The Process to File E-Nomination in Your EPF Account Online

  • Visit EPFO Member Portal (www.epfindia.gov.in)
  • Now in the tabs present on the top, expand the Service Tab which is reflecting on the top left side, and click on the ‘For Employees’ option.
  • Then click on the ‘Member UAN/Online service (OCS/OTCP)’ under the Service Head.
  • Now Employee Login Portal page will get open (https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/).
  • Then log in by entering your UAN and password, and enter the given captcha.
  • Once you Login to your PF account, click on ‘Manage’ and select the ‘E-nomination option from the drop-down.
  • Now a new page will get open where you will see Family Declaration Column.
  • In a family declaration column, a question will be asked (Having Family? (Yes/No)
  • If you have a family select the ‘Yes’ option and if you are single then select the ‘No’ option.
  • After selecting a family option, add your Nominee Details under Add family details column.
  • In nominee details, you need to fill in details like nominee Aadhar Number, Date of Birth, Gender, Relationship with the member, Address, Bank details (which includes Bank IFSC Code and nominee account number), and photo of the nominee.
  • After filling in all the details if you want to add more than one nominee then select Add row option, or if you want to add only one nominee then click on the Save family details option.
  • Your Family details will be saved successfully.
  • Now your nominee has been added to EPF nomination Column, select the same and mention the Total amount of share (%)
  • If you have added only one nominee then mention 100% over there and if you have mentioned more than one nominee then divide the share according to you.
  • Click on Save EPF Nomination and your EPF nomination details will be saved successfully.
  • Now below, if the EPS nomination column is also reflecting then add the nominee over there, by following the same process as above and click on Save EPS nomination.
  • Your EPS nomination details will be saved successfully.
  • Now in the Pending Nomination column, below in the E-sign option tick is reflecting, select the same.
  • One popup will reflect on the screen stating-Do you wish to proceed for e-sign?
  • Select Proceed option.
  • Now you will be redirected to the Demographic Authentication page.
  • Mention your Virtual ID, tick mark in the consent given below, and select Verify option.
  • After selecting verify option, E-hastakshar page will get open.
  • Tick mark on the given checkbox.
  • Now Aadhaar based e-authentication page will get open, enter your Virtual ID/Aadhar number over there, and click on Get OTP.
  • You will receive OTP in your registered mobile number.
  • Enter your Aadhar OTP.
  • Now give your consent and Click on Submit Button.
  • On your screen, the Nomination History page will get open, wherein Status Column Nomination Successful will be reflecting. 

Conclusion

Now E-nomination facility is available with e-sign. EPFO has requested all the EPFO members to complete the filing of E-nomination immediately. Follow the above-mentioned steps and add the nominee to your PF account, so that if there is any mis happening with the member, then their family doesn’t go through any difficulty in filing the claims.
