Dr. Radhakrishnan was born on 5 September 1888 in a Brahmin family in Tirumani, a small village in Tamil Nadu. His father’s name was Sarvepalli Viraswamy, he was definitely poor but was also a learned Brahmin. After that he became a teacher of Indian Philosophy at Oxford University in England. Dr. Radhakrishnan gave first importance to education. This was the reason why he was such a knowledgeable scholar.
