Long ago there used to be a king and queen. He had no children. The king was very sad about this. Maharishi Kashyap came to his kingdom. The king served them and was blessed by the Maharishi, due to which the queen became pregnant but her child was born dead, due to which the king and queen were very sad, due to which both decided to commit suicide. As soon as both of them were about to jump in the river, the sixth mother appeared to them and said that you should worship me so that you will definitely get a child. Both the king and queen worshiped the sixth with the method and they got healthy children. Since then this worship is done on the sixth day of Kartik Shukla Paksha.

On this day, after worshiping the Sun in the evening, water is offered to the setting sun, for which the material to be given in baskets and supra is taken by going to the banks of a river or pond and in the group, Lord Surya Dev is offered Ardhya. Donation is also important at this time. On this day, Prasad is made in homes, in which laddus have an important place.|
|4||Usha Arghya||This is the last fourth day. It is the day of Saptami. Ardhya is offered to the rising sun on this day and prasad is distributed. The entire method is done with cleanliness.|
This four day fast is done with very hard practice. It is said to be the biggest fast in Hinduism, which is done for four days. It has several rules:
Chhath Puja Vrat Rules:
- This is done by both the women and men of the house.
- In this, clean and new clothes are worn in which there is no sewing like women can wear sari and men can wear dhoti.
- During these four days, the fasting person sleeps on the earth, for which he can use a blanket or mat.
- These days, the use of onion, garlic and meat in the house is considered to be prohibited.
On this festival, the banks of the river and the pond get muddy. In this, songs of Chhath Puja are sung. Where Prasad is distributed. Sun God is worshiped in this festival. Apart from this, the importance of Sun worship is not found so much in any worship. There is also a scientific reason behind this, it is said that at the time of the sixth, harmful radiations of the sun come on the earth. Due to this, the human race does not have any effect, so this fast is done by binding it in the rules. This keeps humans healthy.
Chaiti or Chaitri Chhath is celebrated just like Kartik Chhath. There is a difference in just the date. In both the pujas, the Sun God is worshipped.
